I can hardly believe another year is in the books for Lindsey Kay Photography! And my what a year it has been!!! I’m so thankful for my little corner of the web where I can actually go back and see how far I’ve come since the previous year. Every year (and by every year I mean the last two years, lol) I post my favorite images of the year, check in on how my goals panned out, and prepare for the exciting year ahead of me. When I think of 2015, I think of growth. I think of how my business boomed before my eyes as emails from brides poured in for 2016 dates, how the constancy in my work improved and feeling like I finally landed my own esthetic, how I became a better and wiser business owner, and a more understanding and patient wife + mother. Progress over perfection was my mantra for 2015. It’s most certainly impossible to be perfect at any of the things I just named but, I feel, as long as your improving and learning as you go, you’re going to do just fine. Finding my soul mate at 16 years old lead us into a long road of figuring out life together — everything it had to offer, the good, the bad and the ugly — so Sean I’s life motto has always been, “you live, and you learn”. And that’s just what we did this year! I feel wiser, stronger, and more resilient than ever — ready to take on everything 2016 has to offer!! Let’s check into my 2015 goals and see how I did..
THE REVIEW: 1. 2. 3. 4. Learn how to shoot film. The beauty of film always takes my breath away and I would love to someday be able to offer that to my clients! But for now, just a hobby! I WISH I COULD CROSS THIS OFF!! Oh my goodness do I love film. Unfortunately, I never got around to it but look no further than my 2016 goals to see it again ;) 5. 6. 7. BLOG MORE. Every business owner I admire says the key to growing your business is to BLOG MORE. So what am I waiting for? I do countless crafts and house projects that I really need to start creating posts for…I guess just the whole “photograph each step” and write what you’re doing as you go seems so daunting to me! How do bloggers do that day in and day out? I always think that about the cooking blogs!! Major props to all you cooking bloggers out there! But yes, I do need to blog more and a good solution to that is to blog my DIY lifestyle. Boom. Done. I’ve typed it on here so that means I have to. Lord, help me! So 5 out of 7 goals? Hmmm… I guess I’ll take it! Now stay tuned for tomorrow’s post to see what I’m dreaming up for 2016! But first….some of my favorites from 2015!! …..and cue the slow clap for all my stunning clients!
